As the Operations Director, the incumbent of this position reports to the Chairman and is primarily responsible for recruiting membership for the organization, organizing events with the business community in Luxembourg, securing sponsorship for Chamber activities, and serving as the official liaison between the Executive Committee and the committees of the Board of Directors as well as the membership of the organization.


Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for the following duties:


Recruits and retains business members to financially support the organization


 Handles member and prospective member inquiries
 Leads the efforts to enlist new Members
 Organizes and attends meetings with prospective members
 Routinely calls on established, new and prospective members and serves as member liaison to the Chamber
 Provides orientation to new members
 Productively networks in the community by attending all AMCHAM events as well as others of significance to the Chamber and its mission
 Maintains membership materials
 Provides reports to Exco identifying new members, dropped members and prospective members


Organizes events with the business community in Luxembourg, maintaining a positive cash flow


 Plans and develops programs, agendas and budgets for approximately 40 events per year
 Negotiates contracts with service providers, hotels, etc.
 Confers with staff at event site to coordinate event details
 Oversees expenses for each event
 Promotes events via press, website, email and word-of-mouth


Secures sponsorships for Chamber and community

activities to ensure cash flow remains positive
 Builds and maintains profitable, long-term sponsorship relationships
 Generates increased income from existing sources
 Identifies and researches potential funding opportunities
 Liaises with Communications Director for profile raising


Additional duties


 Works closely with the Communications Director and Office Manager
 Serves on the Editorial Committee for Connexion news magazine
 Serves as the liaison between AMCHAM and various community organizations (e.g, American Women’s Club, U.S. Embassy, etc.)
 Provides logistical support for and attends the regular meetings of the committees of AMCHAM


Critical Skills


 Business level fluency in English and French; German, Luxembourgish or other languages considered an asset.
 IT literate and social media savvy
 Demonstrated marketing skills, proven sales ability and customer development experience
 Demonstrated event management skills
 Established knowledge of Luxembourg society/culture and the international community in Luxembourg
