THE JOB:
The Role is to be responsible for building up and developing the risk system of the company, specifically in the areas of market risk, liquidity risk and investment compliance. The candidate will help setting up new clients on the system and ensuring the proper and timely generation of the risk reports. Within the Risk Team the candidate will become the point of reference regarding the risk system and will support the other team members in the reporting to their clients. The candidate will work, at a high level, together with leading names in Europe, namely fund promoters, depositary banks, transfer agents, internal and external auditors.
More precisely the role will be:
Permanent monitoring of the funds' risks:
- Analysing the market risk and liquidity risk;
- Ensuring the efficient production of risk and compliance reports (including VaR and liquidity stress tests) ;
- Communication of the risk reports within the Risk Team and to the clients;
- Supporting other members of the team with their market and liquidity risk analysis;
- Compliance monitoring on the various limits, setting up new rules and escalating breaches to the team and to the clients;
- Following up on client requests regarding market risk, liquidity risk and investment compliance.
Set-up of new clients:
- Contribute to the preparation of the CSSF application files by conducting portfolio analyses and providing substance to the requested documents on risk management;
- Liaise with the Sales and Marketing Team, the Risk Team and clients, in order to set up the production of risk management monitoring;
- Ensure the smooth start up of new clients' daily and monthly reporting process.
Development of various projects within the Risk Management Team:
- Identify and suggest improvements to the work processes, including the collection and handling of data to produce the necessary reports and analyses;
- When assigned with the leadership of a development project, to ensure the proper delivery within the time frame and budget allocated, including testing, presentation to the management, delivery and documentation of the project;
- When assigned as a resource to a project, ensure active participation and feed-back to the project leader for the assigned tasks.
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The perfect candidate :
- Is a graduate in economics, engineering, business administration, financial management or similar education from a recognized business school or university;
- Is familiar with financial risk management and has a good knowledge of the Luxembourg investment fund industry;
- Has gained a minimum of 3 years experience in the business of asset management, corporate banking or insurance;
- Thrives in a very dynamic and multicultural environment;
- Has strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills;
- Is well organised and able to work independently;
- Is preferably English or German mother tongue (fluency in English is mandatory and any other mainstream language is an asset);
- Has a strong knowledge of MS-Windows applications, of VBA (other programming languages and of relational databases);
- Has a proactive and hands-on approach.
